A pharma company commissioned Random42 to produce a touchscreen based 'Video Quiz', to be featured at a medical tradeshow. The quiz was multiple choice, and was based on a short video presentation about technology that the company was developing for 'Detecting Minimal Residual Disease in Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia'.
I was tasked with developing the Application (which I created using Adobe Flash/Air).
The Video Quiz had a simple format. The user (in this case, a medical professional visiting the tradeshow) would be presented with a 'Start Screen' prompting them to touch the screen. Upon doing so, a CG animated video presentation (produced by Random42) would be played, on the topic of 'Detecting MRD in ALL'. Following the video, the user would be asked 4 questions (picked randomly from a database) about what they had just watched. For each question, the user was presented with a choice of 4 possible answers. Once the user had chosen an answer, the App would 'replay' a short extract from the video, relating to the current question. The App would then tell the user whether they answered correctly (the right answer would be revealed, if they chose incorrectly).
Once the quiz had finished, the user would be invited to provide a few details about themselves (and their involvement with leukemia) . These details, along with the user's quiz score, were stored in a MySQL database, for later reference.
Finally, the user would be presented with a 'Results Screen'. This displayed a simple bar chart representating the user's score, ranked against previous participants (both regional and worldwide).
